Be careful when you say God spoke to my heart...because God would - TopicsExpress

Be careful when you say God spoke to my heart...because God would never tell you to allow someones continued suffering.Example: I saw a homeless man freezing in the cold but God spoke to my heart...therefore I didnt clothe him, even though I was blessed enough to do so My family and I are fine...now. However, the attitudes Ive been exposed to, by those who call themselves christians have been all but comforting and have done everything but strengthen my faith. All I can figure is that God wanted me too SEE that, in Christianity, all is not what it seems. Pride, covetousness, selfishness and the things of this world have distorted Gods message...even amongst whom were viewed as strong Christians.. I havent had a TIA (transient ischaemic attack) in a while..thank God. When I was having them it was very scary, especially to a guy whos always been in great shape. My head would pound, my speech was affected, my bp was out of control..suddenly I needed a cocktail of high end meds to keep them under control.. one was very expensive and often we could not afford it. I can remember asking a christian friend who was blessed with a high paying job(like I used to have) to help me in this life threatening situation. To make a long story short, it wasnt until I was was basically weeping at his feet with ashes on my head and my garments rent until he offered to help...as if I had not suffered enough, a mortal man felt that moving me to utter humility and eternal atonement would be sufficient. Thats Gods department, The Holy Spirits job..which had been carried out to the letter, else I would not have asked for help. If THIS is how Christians are treating people...like the needy should atone to the helper and rest in a perpetual state of humility before them, then persecution becomes less confusing. Christianity is not a brand, not a fan club for Christ. Its not a crutch to make you feel better about yourself while you continue living in sin...and its definitely not a license which equals you to God. If Christians would follow Christs example rather than believing they ARE Christ, this world would be a much better place. Love is indeed growing cold..and its painful, just how the enemy likes it.
