“Be fruitful and multiply”. That’s what G-d told His first - TopicsExpress

“Be fruitful and multiply”. That’s what G-d told His first kids, Adam and Eve. The object in marriage, is to do just what G-d said. In observant Jewish homes, there are childless couples who break up their marriage. This practice, I won’t directly address. Yet I will state, that there’s are a multitude of reasons involved with obeying the first command G-d had for man. It is one thing to take on a spouse, to care for one person other than yourself. When you are young, this is not too much of a task, though it seems, that there are individual nuances which are pertinent to each individual. This is aside from fulfilling the conjugal needs of each other. The professor on personal finance suggested, that for all intents and purposes, each spouse could essentially get along without the other. But let a child come along and each person makes up one/half of a critical team. We certainly respect the provision of G-d to endow women with the attributes, both physically and emotionally, for carrying, begetting and nurturing the children. The demands on the husband, though, during the time between conception and delivery are few, maybe, but vital. There’s financial support and then of course there are the cravings which need to be tended to, backs to be rubbed and emotions of one sort or another to be dealt with. There are young men, who may not get it, but hopefully there are wiser, older men, who can offer guidance. All of that is prepatory to what (who, rather) is to come. This is lesson #1 on the road to father/motherhood, for each of the family. Lesson #2 comes during labor (false or otherwise) and the ultimate delivery of your child. This is when things begin to hit home. This is when things get serious. This is when the worries come home to roost. But G-d said to worry about nothing and to PRAY about everything. This is when you begin to seriously rely on Him and His peace and security during the coming hours leading to delivery. Hopefully though, you began praying prior to conception. When lesson #3 arrives, the delivery completed and this bundle of joy is on the scene, ready for the both of you to be as much of a team, as you were during the labor/delivery period. This is when communication needs to happen on a much higher plane. Remember, that G-d created this process. He did it in order that you become mature in every possible way. As I write, I’m reminded of a song from the movie “Carousel”, which I believe says things from a unique perspective. But remember, that your faith in G-d and your knowledge and reliance on His word, are crucial, along with prayer, in growing up your newborn babe. https://youtube/watch?v=CwXtHOfZLW0
