Be our Vanguard. In your heart lies all that stands to remind us of our humanity. Your quick and friendly smile, asks be my friend. Your wry grin invites me into your heart. Your measured eye tells me you have accepted me as your friend. Your untethered wit lets me know you are comfortable with me and you trust me not to judge you. Your easy good natured charm makes me want to be your friend and assures me you will be mine. Your strength and tenacity give testament to your faith in Gods Devine plan. In my minds eye, these things and others will serve not as memories but as daily reminders of your unending spirit. As I go through my days I will always know that I am capable of being a better person, that there is virtue in being true to myself, in being true to others. With each thought I will let your compassion precede my actions. As I look into the eyes of a passing stranger I will remember that within lies a fellow on the road to their own destiny with the self same birth right; to be recognized with love.
