Bear with me - this will be longer than normal. My run route takes me past a Quick Trip in the morning. Today I noticed a group of people in a circle with a man in the middle giving directions. He was briefing them on what they had to do to distribute those annoying advertisements we find on our door knobs. It was 5:45 AM and the people in this group looked less than enthusiastic. One woman looked up as I went by and she stunned me. The utter look of despair and brokenness in her eyes was painful. I could read the entire scenario. Times are tight and desperate for many. Contrary to what the administration says - the economy still sucks (ask any small business owner). These we not college professors or brokers. They were average people that decided to drag their butts out of bed and hang flyers to make money for bills. It made me furious to know that all over the country their are people sitting on their butts waiting for a handout instead of working. I am tired of people whining that they do not have opportunities - Bullshit. You MAKE your opportunities. Without that you are nothing but a lazy troll. If you disguise yourself as compassionate by supporting these ideals of victim-hood then you are as much to blame. Will you get your dream CEO job right at the start? No. But you will have self-respect. America is still the land of opportunity - if you are willing to work at it. An entitlement mentality is growing like a plague across this land and it must be stopped. For those that will chime in about how something was unfair one time.. Shut it! Life is not fair. Social Justice is unicorns and cake for the intellectually stunted. You will decide what kind of life you will lead.
