Because I know people, I know somebody out there is like Damn! I am TIRED of The Body Is Not an Apology and this damn campaign! Well I can assure you I AM MORE TIRED THAN YOU! But I am even MORE TIRED of the outcomes of Body Terrorism in the world: the over 1000 Palestinians dead, planes shot out of the sky and 300 bodies scattered like litter because of ethinicity and otherness, the 150,000 bodies killed in Syrias 3 year war, our inhumane treatment of undocumented immigrants, the police and public murders of Eric Ganter, Jordan Davis, Darius Simmons, Renisha Mcbride, Trayvon Martin, Andy Lopez and on and on and on. The global, systemic, and interpersonal; the individual and collective violences we live with that are at their foundation a belief that other bodies are not valuable, that our bodies are not valuable that all humans do not inherently deserve radical love and care makes this planet unbearable for me. The Body Is Not an Apology is not about self esteem. It is about changing the world I described above, one human at a time. And i refuse to tire of that work because if I do I will not be able to stay on this planet one second longer. My vision for this movement/organization/platform is that we expand the work we do that interrupts the outcomes of Body Terrorism. It is not just my work to do. It is OUR work to do.
