Because Ive always been vocal about my love for Ravens football, I will make the following comment about the awful situation with Ray Rice. Ray Rice knew what he did in that elevator. He had to know this video would follow the original at some point. He should have come clean about it all. Of course, his lawyers likely advised him to not do that. His league rep from the Players Union probably told him to keep quiet. He still could have come clean anyway. I will hope that the Ravens truly did not know the whole story. That they would have terminated his contract immediately had they known. I dont see Steve Bisciotti as someone who would sit quietly by. I dont see John Harbaugh sitting quietly by either. Maybe Im wrong, I dont know. This morning, upon hearing the news, I was prepared to walk away from football and the Ravens. I was happy to hear the news of RRs termination. It was deserved. It will be some time though before Ill really enjoy the game again, Im afraid. This will prove to be a very heavy cloud for this team. One that wont be shaken easily or quickly. Finally, having lived through domestic violence as a child I just cant ignore the facts that are front and center now. I cant and I wont. I know the impact it has on everyone involved. The only thing I can do now is pray for them.
