Because Rivers disease has enough uncontrollable factors. Because he TRUSTS his doctor, and his doctor knows his WHOLE history. Because his doctor was there from the VERY beginning of his diagnosis, and he ALWAYS puts River at ease. Because I wouldnt let my auto-insurance company tell me which car to buy to drive him to and from school. Because I wouldnt let my home-owners insurance company tell me where to buy my house and which neighborhood offered River the best childhood. And because NO other measure on a ballot has ever had the potential to impact us so personally and profoundly. THESE are the reasons that I ask you, if you live in our great state of South Dakota, to get out there and VOTE. Vote YES on 17! A YES vote means that if our health insurance changes, River will be able to continue to see HIS doctor. It will not allow the health insurance company to uproot his care and place it in the hands of a stranger. It will mean consistent, continued care from a doctor who understands River and HIS disease. It means always knowing River will get hugs and knuckle bumps from a doctor who cares. Because NOTHING is more important to me than my little dudes and their health.
