Become a Solution to Poverty Challenge: D-Prize of $20,000 to Implement your Venture Are you worried about the poverty-problems the world is facing today? Do you think if the solutions that exist to these problems were if distributed to the needy people, we would be on the track to alleviating poverty soon? Do you find yourself in a position to solve these problems if supported with funding? If your answers are yes, read this opportunity! D-prize is seeking you to address the challenges! The D-Prize invites anyone or group around the globe interested in starting a new social enterprise in the developing world and solve one of the below listed distribution problems to submit their effective projects on the mentioned solutions. D-Prize is dedicated toward expanding access to poverty-alleviation solutions in the developing world. Its goals are – significantly increase access to life-enhancing technologies in the developing world – and prove an impact in a measurable way; encourage young entrepreneurs to focus their talent on the developing world, pilot new solutions to distribution problems, and launch new social ventures; and encourage a global dialogue on the importance of leveraging distribution solutions for development. We believe the path to development is through solving distribution. Challenges: 1. Girl’s Education --Sugar daddy awareness class in Sub-Saharan Africa --Scholarship 2. Energy --Sell Solar lamps in Sub-Saharan Africa --Sell Modern Cook Stoves 3. Education --Implement effective curriculum in Africa --Launch an organization in Sub-Saharan Africa that tests student and school performance, and make the information publicly available 4. Global Health --Simple management system to track vaccine supplies --Create a way to identify patients (obstetric fistula, cervical cancer, club foot, and cataract) for early treatment --Develop an organization to train birth attendants to administer misoprostol that prevents 100,000 maternal deaths from postpartum hemorrhaging 5. Choose an already proven poverty solution for distribution among more people in development world – propose your own challenge! Note the Dates: 1. 12 December 2014 – Early Deadline 2. 30 December 2014 – Regular Deadline 3. 15 January 2015 – Limited Extension Eligibility Criteria: --Applicant organization should be less than 12 months old. --Organizations/groups that have already raised more than $100,000 cannot apply for the prize. --Applicants should not be piloting a new distribution-focused initiative. Application Procedure: 1. Submit a resume and two-page concept note by the deadlines mentioned above. Early submissions are highly encouraged. 2. Top 5% of entrepreneurs will be invited to submit a full 10-page proposal. Full plans should be submitted within 4-week of invitation date. 3. Top entrepreneurs will be selected and interviewed. 4. Winners will be selected and offered up to $20,000 each along with mentorship and other support as they launch. 5. The winners will spend three months raising fund on the venture they plan to start.
