Been away for a while but Im back. A mid 1970s photo showing the small terrace that backed onto the old rectory of St Cuthberts (no doubt someone will jog my memory as to its name).As you can see it is in the process of being demolished. The back yards were very substantial. The cross of St Josephs Church can just be made out behind the telegraph post. I cant remember ever seeing the front of this terrace which must of looked onto the church cemetery and back of the old billiard hall on Church Street (or thereabouts). The recent image shows what is now the vets,( the old library in my youth), the buildings facing, with the brown tiled roofs and chunky white windows can be seen on the old photo to the left of the telegraph post
