Been really thinking about the state of our city, Orlando, in a music and art mecca scene kinda way... I really feel like we have our hand on the pulse of something valuable. All we need is one great year to set this thing off. The biggest help we need is in numbers. We need bodies at all of the events we got going on this year. FMF is putting Solillaquists on this Thursday, April 24th, on Wall Streets Main Stage. We need to represent by bringing a great number of folks to show our love and support towards their effort, growth, and longevity with FMF. We hope to see them reach a success rate high enough to compete with a festival like SXSW in Austin, Texas. We wish for venues to really get behind things like this too. Afterwards, June 12th at The Beacham, we got B.Y.O.C. (Bring Your Own Crew ft: Sadat X of Brand Nubian, El Da Sensei of the Artifacts, Qwel and Maker, and J-Live), where were trying to get a hold of the up and coming artists, to help them find greater audiences, better experiences, and eager fans of music, period. Ive been adamantly booking touring acts to help Orlando gain its notoriety when it comes to routing this city, (for example: Blueprint of RhymeSayers, DJ Rare Groove, and Count Bass D are appearing at the Peacock Room on May 16th.) This helps opening acts gain bigger fan bases and exposes the city as a reliable source of value. I need my citys help in a big way. I need a consistent push towards a lively and thick culture from my old and young socialites. I want to organize a town meeting about this move. Id like to have the meeting on Monday 7:45p.m. at Austins Coffee. Let me know if you wish to participate. Sincerely, Mayor Swamburger
