Before I go n attend to family matters, let me make a last ditch - TopicsExpress

Before I go n attend to family matters, let me make a last ditch pitch, this time publicly, on debris clearing and body retrieval. Susan D. Reyes, I have pitched this and I have talked to a cab sec already. And yes, Deedee Siytangco, I have gone back channelling already not once but several times on mobilization strategies and logistics ops. Even as I have done so, our effort ProjPAGLAUM moves outside the radar screen. Kindly consider food4work, cash4work program now! Even at P150 from 1-5pm, with 2,000 mobilized in Tacloban, subdivided into several grids, and warm bodies deployed among the grids, that would be only P300,000 per day. 2,000 mobilized as Pulot Brigade, collecting 200 kgs would translate to 400,000 kgs or 400 tons of debris per day. 5 days of work would be 2,000 tons. That would clear most of the major debris on most of the major roads and streets, including the cadavers, with the debris neatly piled up in nearby vacant lots for pick up by dump trucks and even if they are not picked, the neatly piled debris would give a more orderly appearance. Same with cadavers which should be photographed, clothing and personal articles photographed and recorded as well, and tagged and DNA samples taken, and the cadavers disposed of in open pits away from the living population. The same can be replicated in other affected areas. We just cant be doing relief. You cant count dead bodies correctly unless you clear the debris.
