Before I go to bed, I want to share something. I have a member, that when the Spirit of God is moving her, she cries out Thats all right. I want to say to First Baptist Church - you deserve a great, big thats all right for this morning: THATS ALL RIGHT - Our first Next G(eneration) service was a smash hit. The children and youth are programmed to lead the worship and they were off the chain. The read scripture, prayed, made the announcements, served as Jr. Deacons, Ushered, Sang, Played the piano. I reiterate my position - if we dont prepare the next generation to serve, FBC will be no more. Today, they have me great hope for the future. A special shout-out to Sis. Angela Harris Winkfield and Rev. Anna Jones for their coordination. Im already considering make this a monthly activity. I was led to ask Christopher Roberts, who was in his 7th or 8th grade when I came to Frankfort, (and hes even taller than I am) and now he has grown up, about ready to go to college, and a stellar athlete, to pray the benediction prayer - and prayed he did. Im so proud of him! THATS ALL RIGHT - Yall came to church in great numbers in both the 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. services. You heeded the clarion call of the shepherd and your presence spoke volumes. Weve suffered a terrible situation but we have to look at this as a distraction from the Devil to keep us from serving the Lord. THATS ALL RIGHT - I noticed something in both services, I saw people talking together, hugging each other, and showing love to each other. In spite of the measures that were implementing for our safety, its good to see that we will continue to love each other. THATS ALL RIGHT - I was so pleased to see the young people in our church (and yes, some of us seasoned saints) embrace technology. I noticed many of the young people (and our brackets as well) reading scripture from their iPhones and Tablets. That spoke volumes this morning. It is a great convenience to have your Bible app with you 24/7. THATS ALL RIGHT - Thank you Pastors Anniversary Committee for the Catfish Dinner you served after worship for the big Kentucky game this evening. It was wonderfully seasoned and delicious. THATS ALL RIGHT - Minister Michael Carter has become one of the best Praise and Worship Leaders in the area. I appreciate the transparency of his worship and how he can take an old song and make it meaningful for this generation. Im in awe. THATS ALL RIGHT - The Word of God, I pray, was a help to each of us to put the events of the past week into perspective. None of us are exempt from troubles and trials - but the Lord knows how much we can bear. I dare not say If it were me . . . I have my level of pressure that only God knows that I could bear. We continue to pray for our Church Treasurer and thank you Jesus for the Word today. THATS ALL RIGHT - Ive been mulling around the sanctuary to make myself available to talk with our members who just want to talk with their pastor briefly after worship. I am grateful to serve.
