Before the start of the budget and debt ceiling debate begins, Boehner should tell Obama this: Mr. President. As you like to say, Obamacare is the law of the land. Well so is the Budget Control Act of 2011. Unlike Obamacare, it was passed by bi-partisan majorities in both houses of Congress. The Budget Control Act of 2011 allows you to spend $3.56 Trillion in FY 2014 and that is the most that Congress is going to allow you spend. We will negotiate how we allow you to spend it. Well negotiate spending less but we will not negotiate you spending one dollar more. Dont bother proposing otherwise as it is not a serious proposal as it cannot pass the House. We can talk about a grand bargain that might raise revenues thorough higher growth but those revenues will go to paying down the debt. If youre not willing to negotiate then the Budget Control Act better known as the sequester remains in effect. I understand Mr. President, that you are a big fan of ignoring laws you dont like but not now. Not this time. 3.56 Trillion dollars. Thats it. Dont even bother asking me for more.
