Beggars can’t be choosers! The last time BJP pleaded to the Indian electorate to give them a chance to govern at the center was in 1991. LK Advani led the party from the front and was able to create the hype across India and everyone believed BJP to come to power. BJP was restricted to 120 seats that time. An era of old style socialist politics ended in 1991 and Indian Economy was liberalized paving way to increased flow of funds. This scenario helped politicians to build a political-corporate nexus to create private wealth through biased investment decisions and nepotism. Narendra Modi was opportunistic enough to seize this post liberalization scenario and helped himself to establish in Gujarat by building strong PR with leading multi-crore business houses. On the national scene he is short of agenda and does not have a blueprint for the existing problems of the country. Can an authoritative leader like him who is known for silencing his critics and curb intellectual freedom across the country be trusted for his vision of Development alone. He is still silent on his approach on foreign policies. Nawaz Sharif and late Benazir Bhutto gained political mileage by instigating the feelings of Pakistani electorates by repeatedly talking about Kashmir problem but provided virtually no solution. NaMo is replicating the style of Pakistani politicians and accusing the Defense Minister of India AK Antony and enthusiast Arvind Kejriwal as Pakistani agents are done with the motive to instigate the Indian Electorates and thus polarize Hindu votes in his favor. He should have rather tell the country about his vision and stand on Kashmir problem. He should clear his stand and policies to get back POK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir) not only on the Indian map but also under the direct administrative control of Indian Government. The chances of Advani ji to become a PM, however vague and imaginative it might appear, are still there. He can seek support of 60 MP’s from his party and in turn can get the support of Congress and other parties and can shatter ModiDreams. This time we don’t need a strong Government at the center but a strong opposition which BJP has failed to provide so far.
