Beginning half way around the world, Christians begin tonight celebrating “World Communion Sunday” as the globe spins through this universe that God has created. Every minute, every hour, followers of Jesus Christ gather in community, break bread, lift the cup and relish the joy of God’s gifts to each and all of us. On Sunday, October 6 at 11:00 am, like others in our faith families, we come to God’s table of Grace, sharing with others. Our worship is planned to lift up the variety of places where worship happens—in places like Bali, Scotland, Indonesia, South Africa, Africa, France, Nepal, Canada—so come join us in worshiping our God who unites us all. Our communion will feature various types of breads, various types of singing and prayers, various types of prayers and confessions and pardons. Our choir will lead us in singing parts of our communion liturgy and Paul Schwab will accompany us as we sing together “The Lord’s Prayer.” Maybe you can’t make every Sunday—but this Sunday will be special, so I’m sure you won’t want to miss it! See you in God’s sanctuary here at St John’s on the Lake. P.S. By the way, our pumpkins arrive next Sunday, October 13—come help us unload our full truck!
