Being Translated by Fellowship! on Aug 15 in Uncategorized tagged by admin 15 Aug/13 5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God (Hebrews 11:5). Enoch had an intimate fellowship with the Lord; he was translated that he should not see death. Death is not just the cessation of biological life; it represents poverty, defeat, sickness, failure or destruction. You can walk with the Spirit of God in intense fellowship where you enjoy such translational power over failure, poverty, defeat, sickness or any other thing the devil throws at you. “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen” (2 Corinthians 13:14). The Greek word for “communion” is koinonia which expresses very deep fellowship – a drinking together. The Holy Spirit will transport you from one level of glory to another; He puts you in a place of advantage over everything and every situation. This is His ministry in your life! As a child of God, your success in life is based on your walk with the Holy Spirit. Jeremiah 17:7-8 says, Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit. This scripture is talking about a life that’s not influenced by circumstances of this life. It means the situation that’s destroying others won’t affect you in anyway because you’ll be transported above them by the power of the Holy Spirit. This is God’s plan for His children. And, for you to experience such translational power in your life, just like Enoch did, you must walk in the Holy Spirit. Be A Good Soldier In God’s Army on Jul 31 in Uncategorized tagged by admin 31 Jul/13 3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ (2 Timothy 2:3). When you gave your life to Christ, you enrolled as a soldier in God’s army and you were put in uniform from that hour. The Bible says, “No one serving as a soldier gets involved in civilian affairs – he wants to please his commanding officer” (2 Timothy 2:4 NIV). Christianity is a call to the life of spiritual discipline. You don’t own yourself anymore. A good soldier’s allegiance is pledged to pleasing his commanding officer, in defending the territorial integrity and sovereignty of his home country. In the same way, your primary focus should be to please the Lord and do whatever He wants you to do, when He wants you to do it, how He wants you to do it. It’s no longer a case of doing “what you feel like doing,” or “what feels right with you”; it’s about living for the Master; obeying His instructions, for He is the Commanding Officer. Don’t forget, the army is a place of discipline and toughness, where excuses are not tolerated. A soldier in service doesn’t do what civilians do. He operates a regimented lifestyle. He’s always at the disposal of his commanding officer. When it’s time for war, no excuses; off he goes. Having enlisted in God’s army, you can’t make excuses anymore for missing Church services, for example. Prayer must be an integral part of your daily routine, and soul winning should be your lifestyle. You’re in active service for the Lord, a soldier on duty. Therefore don’t get encumbered with the transient and trivial affairs of life. Concentrate on doing the Master’s will and pleasing Him.Let others be challenged by your faith and godly lifestyle. Keep your uniform on and stand firm in faith, as a good soldier in God’s army. Go for Knowledge on Feb 20 in Uncategorized tagged by admin 20 Feb/13 7 “How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? And the scorners delight in scorning, and fools hate knowledge? Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you” (Proverbs 1:22-23). When you come into Christ, one of the first things you will discover is a deep hunger for the Word of God. All you want to do is to know this Savior that redeemed your soul from destruction. You will make use of every opportunity to hear the Word of God, not wanting to miss out on anything. It matters what you do with what God has given to you. In the opening Scripture, when God addressed the simple, He also rebuked the scorners, those who treat the Word with reproach and He called such people fools. What characteristics differentiate a wise man from a foolish man? According to the Bible, a wise man will hear and will increase learning (Proverbs 1:5), but a foolish man despises wisdom and instruction (Proverbs 1:7). The Lord gives further instructions on what to do when you find yourself in this predicament. He said, “turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my Spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.” That means He wants to pour out His spirit upon His children, to rekindle their fire for the Word. So, He encouraged them to, “come here and listen to me…” (Proverbs 1:23 TLB). When you listen, He will pour His Spirit upon you. That is how to fan aglow the embers of your passion for the Word. Do not miss Church Services on Jan 30 in Uncategorized tagged by admin 30 Jan/13 3 Let us not neglect our Church meetings, as some people do… (Hebrews 10:25 TLB). If you can be disciplined enough to go to work almost every day of the week; when it’s convenient or not, then make up your mind not to miss any Church service in your local assembly this year. This is the first month of the year and a good time to make this decision, as the importance of going to Church cannot be overemphasized. The Bible says concerning Jesus that “…he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read” (Luke 4:16). In other words, Jesus had a culture of going to the synagogue, which was a place of worship and a type of Church in that age. It was part of His personal discipline and devotion; if the Master took it as an important activity, you should do so too. If you don’t go to Church, you will not grow the way you ought to. Going to Church is one of those things you must do to exercise yourself spiritually; it’s more than just a weekly routine. The Apostle Paul warned, “Let us not neglect our Church meetings, as some people do…” (Hebrews 10:25 TLB). He expressed his displeasure at those who wouldn’t go to Church and warned others not to copy their attitude. Make a personal commitment that you will always be in Church on the days of worship. Don’t skip Church services or go only when it’s convenient for you. This is one sure way to walk in God’s Will for your life this year. True Satisfaction on Jan 19 in Uncategorized tagged by admin 19 Jan/13 9 “For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his” (Hebrews 4:10). In life, people naturally seek satisfaction. Some try to find it in their jobs, while some others try to seek it in friends and thrill-seeking. This urge for a “feeling” of inner satisfaction is what drives people to engage in various vain pursuits. The truth, however is, true satisfaction comes from God alone. Not too many people understand how to operate from this point of satisfaction and that explains why so many have lived their lives simply going around in circles. Such folks need to heed the words of Jesus: “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me…: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30). What an invitation! When you cast your burdens (struggles, ambitions, plans, pursuits and so on) on the Master, you’ll have rest for your soul. That’s the beginning of true satisfaction. True satisfaction comes when your pursuits in life conform to what God desires for you. It’s the peace you experience in your heart when the Holy Spirit becomes Lord over your choices and decisions. Don’t operate from a position of dissatisfaction; otherwise you’ll go through life looking for shortcuts. When you set your goals, do it prayerfully, to make sure they’re in line with what the Spirit of God’s desires for you. Once they are achieved from the realm of the Spirit, they’ll be a walk-over in the physical realm. Strive to Excel! on Nov 02 in Uncategorized tagged by pcadmin 02 Nov/12 15 “Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures” (James 1:18). In God’s mind, we are number one of all His creation; first class all the way! Recognize this truth because when you do, you’ll always want to be number one in everything you do. And so your journey of life, never lose the desire to be the best and to be excellent in all you do. Decide to excel in every area of your life. If you are a tailor, make up your mind to be the number one fashion designer in your country. Don’t stop there, you can go beyond your country; your label can be known all over the world for quality. If you are a doctor, be the best around because God is concerned about doctors being able to find new ways of curing diseases. Be the one to discover the cure for those diseases termed ‘incurable.’ It will take some diligence and hard work, but you can do it. To be the best, you’ll have to draw from God’s investment inside you; and the Holy Spirit is God’s investment in you. He’s there to help you, so never neglect His ministry in your life. Be Purposeful! on Sep 04 in Uncategorized tagged by pcadmin 04 Sep/12 35 Many years ago, a gentleman told me that he wanted to be a businessman. When I asked “why?” he stared at me wondering what I meant by that question. You see, it is not enough to be a businessman; that’s not a vision. Being a doctor, lawyer or an accountant is not a vision either because your profession shouldn’t be your vision. You may need to ask yourself this; “what is God’s purpose for me in this profession?” The lack of a purpose in life has led to the frustration of so many lives. Some have become millionaires only to discover that money doesn’t bring satisfaction, and soon they are looking for something more. Only the Lord can show a man the purpose for his life. God’s Word says, “moreover whom he did not predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified” (Romans 8:30). When we talk about destiny we are making reference to God’s purpose in your life. Your profession is not the end in itself but a means to an end. Whether or not you are going to be a politician, an accountant or a doctor isn’t so important, because that’s all a part of the process of fulfilling your destiny in God. And you can know God’s purpose for your life and how to play your role in ensuring you fulfill that purpose. What is your purpose for living? It’s not too late to discover what God wants you to accomplish for His glory. Get into His Word, spend more time in prayer and fellowship with the Spirit, and He will guide you in the path you should follow. Forget the Past! on Jul 28 in Uncategorized tagged by pcadmin 28 Jul/12 22 Saul, who was later known as Paul; one of the greatest Apostles ever, was a bitter persecutor of the Church. Acts 8:3 says, “As for Saul, he made havoc of the Church, entering into every house, and hailing men and women, committed them to prison.” This was the extent of Saul’s desperation to execute the Christians; but when he encountered Jesus, his life took on a new course. After that, he completely let go of the past and never ever berated himself for persecuting the Church. He had the revelation of the new creation and as such knew that old things were passed away and all things had become new (2Corinthians5:17). Addressing the Philippians, in Philippians 3:13 (TLB), he said to them, “…forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead.” All through his ministry year, he talked about the Lord Jesus Christ as though he walked and dined with Him. Everything he knew about Christ was not after the flesh, rather it was by revelation, and that’s why he could preach the gospel with all his being. And this may not have been achieved if he still held on to his past as a persecutor of the Church. He had the will to lay aside every negative weight of the past that threatened to hinder his ministry, and forged ahead with his new life in Christ. Just like this great apostle of Jesus Christ, let the new life occupy your thoughts and fill your mouth. Demonstrate the Lord’s will and His Word as you walk in the Spirit. Do not dwell on old things because once you come into Christ, they cease to exist. This is a new creation reality: that you have received the gift of righteousness; therefore, forget the past and forge ahead to your glorious future. Judge No one! on Jul 17 in Uncategorized tagged by pcadmin 17 Jul/12 9 Have you ever met people who have a judgmental attitude to life? They judge everything and everyone with one standard and judge themselves with another; believing they know what’s in everybody’s heart. God is never pleased with such people because it is a wrong attitude to life. When you see a brother behave in a certain manner you don’t agree with, first get more information for the cause of action before reacting. Don’t reject anyone on hearsay; don’t join the multitude to condemn! The Bible says the Lord Jesus has been “…ordained of God to be the Judge of the quick (living) and dead” (Acts10:42). He alone is the true Judge; nevertheless, He’s rich in mercy. His mercy knows no bound and you can have it increased in your life by being merciful to others. Never reject a man because he doesn’t conform to your beliefs. You may not have been exposed to some information he’s exposed to. Rather, make up your mind to journey the way of Christ. Christianity is full time on Jul 12 in Uncategorized tagged by admin 12 Jul/12 6 I was actively involved in soul winning even while I was a student, and back then, I had many of my colleagues ask me, are you going into full time ministry? ‘I am already a minister of the gospel’, was always my response. You see, where you are and what you are doing now is not what really matters. There is nothing you are in this world that would be forever. You can only be a student for a while; and if you are a teacher, doctor or business man, you will retire at some time. But if you have received Christ into your life and are born again, then you are a full time minister of the gospel of Christ. Christianity is not something we do, its who we are. Your gender isn’t something that you qualify for, it’s what you are. A true Christian is a man that has discovered his true reason for living. Such a man doesn’t care about where he is, because he knows he could find himself anywhere, and at any time. Just like Philip who had abandoned himself to God, and God was free to take him any where (Acts 8:39). So, let all of your energy and strength be channeled into one thing: leading men to Christ. This should be the mentality of every Christian. If the essence of your career is not about reaching people for Jesus, it is worthless! You are not just in business to make money, you are there to reach the world for Jesus!
