Being a foster parent was hard work. Scary at times with frustrating moments. Until you realize that these kids didnt ask for any of it, that they were forced into situations that have caused them to build walls and habits to protect themselves ... You will never be able to love them to the point of those walls coming down. Which is exactly what they need! Someone in their life that wont give up on them when things get tough. Next time your child has an issue with another child at school... Stop to think about that childs home life first. You never know where they are coming from and who is standing up for them, if anyone. Reach out to help that parent in the store whose child is mis-behaving instead of glancing stares and your advice. Things arent always what they seem.
