Being a very healthy & active person at the time of my late stage diagnosis of lung cancer, I recoiled at being told to get my affairs in order. When the fifth Dr. I met with hemmed & hawed about my prognosis...I looked him straight in the eye & asked, So youre telling me that now is the time to bend over & kiss my a** good-bye? I guess he was shocked at my not- so- lady- like candor. He paled & stuttered for words ...then he burst out laughing-We both did. He also ended up being the guy that saved my life. The last thing we do here is peddle false hope-Some people ARE diagnosed at a late incurable stage & despite all our efforts we lose the best of the best. Lung cancer can be random & unpredictable. But... where there is life, there is hope. Many here will attest to getting,2nd,3rd,4th,5th opinions, that have saved lives. Dont take no for an answer. Being tenacious & pro-active in our care saves many a life.
