Belize was the third to present Argentina, Bahamas and Belize. Dr. Eslyn Jones from the Bahamas sat beside me. Each Champion had to submit 5 slides (power point presentation from last week). My presentation was made just before the Conference as you all know I wanted to stay with my mom and Ive been dealing with my mom’s illness with no time to prepare. Deadline to submit presentation was long gone. I spoke to the team leader who was instrumental in offering me this wonderful opportunity. She cried and I cried too. She said Sheran go ahead and prepare your slides as you are here early and I will squeeze it in. Thanks to my UB sister Director of Admissions Dr. Andrea Middleton nd her secretary Neri along with Cyrstal the receptionist at UB I had one of the most beautiful presentations as I used her well prepared recruitment slide to prepare my speaking notes.. Thanks to my boss Dean William Arthur Neal for his oustanding creativity for the UB theme: UB is for all of us: Get involved. I said it in all languages. Content was not an issue for me as Ive been dealing with international education from before I was born and to top it off my experience in Caracas and Cuba facilitated my being-bilingual. I captured the audience in no time and guess what we are amongst the few who are already receiving ELAP funding for our Study abroad students. Weve received funding for 6 UB students so far. Also weve received over 12 Canadian Study Abroad Students from Thompson Rivers University and Huron. Weve also received Service Learning Students from Canada and weve sent from UB. UBs expereince will be used as a model for other countries!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
