Below is a status update from Erika Wilde, posted yesterday. Im stunned and saddened that she had to post this. I can tell you from personal experience she is one of the nicest, most giving, caring people (not just author, PERSON) I know. Her Janelle Denison (Offical Author Page) Wilde series books were the first romance books I read. Over the years, weve developed a friendship, and I can honestly say I wouldnt be where I am today without her help (along with the other Plotmonkeys). Readers being excited about an authors books is fantastic, and every author loves to know his/her readers are excited and looking forward to an upcoming release. When inquiring, please be respectful and remember authors also have personal lives that have nothing to do with the stories they create. And sometimes theyre blindsided by unexpected situations (family, personal, health, day jobs) that make it nearly impossible to write, let alone write books they feel are up to the quality their readers expect. Trust me, when a writer misses a deadline, theyre already beating themselves up enough. They dont need any additional help in that department. Compassionate understanding goes a long way in situations like this.
