Below is our Sept/Oct Prayer Letter: Dear Praying Friends and Family, As we approach the Thanksgiving season, we are truly grateful for the Lord’s leading in our lives, and for you, our faithful supporters. Your prayers and financial support are a vital part of our ministry. Thank you for your dedicated service to the Lord and for your heart for missions. Last month, we received wonderful news from Cameroon, Africa! During our visit there, Bro. David Bennett (Missions Director) challenged a group of men about reaching the Deaf in their area. Praise the Lord, one of these men, Valerie, has recently requested materials and begun to work with the Deaf!! It is thrilling to see how God is working! What a wonderful blessing, and may all glory go to God. He has done, and is doing, great things!! In September, I began teaching a Sunday School class at our home church on Basic Doctrines of the Bible. We started with Bibliology (the study of the Bible), and moved through Theology and Man (His creation, fall, and redemption). Soon the class will break for the holidays, and will begin again in January. Teaching the class has been a wonderful learning experience for me, and an opportunity for the students to rekindle their interests in Biblical studies. The responsibility of teaching the class has temporarily slowed our deputation travels. However, we hope to get some meetings set up at local churches in PA this winter. We would covet your prayers in this area. Everyone who works with the Deaf will doubtlessly, at some point, encounter the Jehovah’s Witnesses. They are, sadly, ahead of us when it comes to reaching Deaf people. In Gabon, we met many Deaf who claimed to be Jehovah’s Witnesses. Thus, our mission’s director asked me to do research and write a paper about their beliefs, etc. This will help us greatly as we go back to Gabon and try to reach the Deaf with the truth, the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I was able to go to the local Kingdom Hall and talk personally with some of them (until they seemed to figure out that I was Baptist). It was a very eye-opening experience for me to meet with them firsthand. Lastly, we are making strides towards paying off a personal college loan, which is down to approximately $7,000. We both have day jobs, as well as some side jobs, but are praying for God’s wisdom in seeking better employment. Our goal is to pay the debt off completely by June 1, 2014, so that we may attend candidacy school for Silent Word Ministries International. To be honest, much doubt comes into our minds, and we wonder how such a goal can be met. Then we are reminded, how we were over $9,000 short of funds just a month before our survey trip of Gabon, and how God miraculously provided more than the funds needed!! How can we not have faith, though as a “grain of mustard seed”, that this need can also be met?!? Please pray that God would increase and grow our faith during this time. Once again, we wish to thank you for praying for us. Would you please pray also for the precious, lost souls in Gabon? These dear people are so often on our hearts and minds. Please pray that God would send laborers to help us in this needy field. What about you? Would you consider surrendering your life to reach the Deaf??? For His Glory, Bruce and Amanda Stuart Mark 16:15-16; Romans 10:14
