Benefit for Moore & Shawnee Maun-Koye-ee (tornado) Victims There will be a benefit dance on June 8, 2013 held at the Kiowa Tribal Complex, Red Buffalo Hall, in Carnegie, Oklahoma. Starting with Gourd Dancing at 1:00 p.m., supper at 5:00 p.m. and War & Social Dancing at 7:00 p.m. until closing. This is a time we as Kiowas need to come together on behalf of our fellow tribal members: Carol Botone Willis, Velma Domebo Isenberger, Maxine Whitehorse Komah, Kenny Haumpy of Moore, Robert “Sonny” Yeahpau and Cecil Autaubo of Shawnee. These individuals had lost everything caused by the devastating MAUN-KOYE-EE (tornado) of May 19 & 20, 2013. Three of these victims are elders and the other two are young families. This benefit is not only for these victims but will also include others that were affected as well. We as Kiowas were taught to be respectful of one another and be there for each other. There are going to be things that they are going to need both materialistically, financially and most of all spiritually. Kiowas are especially encouraged to come and be a part of this event. All donations will be greatly appreciated, there will be concessions, cake walks and raffles.
