Benefits or the Promises To The Humble 2 CHRONICLES 7:14 says 14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Notice that the first thing God says His people must do is humble themselves, even before praying or turning from their wicked ways. 2 SAMUEL 22:28 says 28 You will save the humble people; but Your eyes are on the haughty, that You may bring them down. PSALM 25:9 says 9 The humble He guides in justice, And the humble He teaches His way. PROVERBS 11:2 says 2 When pride comes, then comes shame; but with the humble is wisdom. JAMES 4:6-7,10 says 6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. 7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up. 1 PETER 5:5-7 says 5 Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. 6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
