Berserk by Kentaro Miura has been quite possibly one of the biggest influences of my life. In reading an interview of Miura, he mentioned how the Band of the Hawk and its cast of characters were based off some of his closest friends in college. In reading all of what Miura has done for Berserk in the past 20 years, I realize how important the Advent of the Eclipse was to him on a personal level. And to pour that much of yourself and your life-long experience of friendships and companionship into an epic tale of survival just blows my mind. In creating my own work, I hope to strive in reaching a personal level with my audience one day.
