Besides having a lovely day with my family, I had the bonus of hearing two great programs on NPR on my drive. The one this morning was called (I think) Hidden Kitchens and was a series of amazing stories including one about the Mafia in Italy opening a chain of pizza restaurants that were actually a front for heroin smuggling. On the drive home, I heard Fresh Airs interview with Marty Stuart. Not being a country music fan, I knew nothing about him, but was enchanted by his eloquent storytelling about his most unusual life. Nice bookends for a nice day.
