Betty Jean (Bee Jai) Repp, Ph D, 61 years old, died May 7, 2014 in her beautiful King City home after a valiant battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones. Bee Jai was born November 23, 1952 in Portland, OR to Fred J and Marjorie H Repp. She helped thousands of low-income and minority students accomplish an education as the Director of PSU’s Extended Campus program for 16years. Prior to retiring last June, she expanded her Department’s services when she traveled to Ghana to establish on-line training for Ghanaian students and in retirement had plans to travel as a contractor for PSU to the Northern Mariana Islands to set up a similar program. Bee Jai was a most generous, caring and supportive advocate for the underprivileged and went out of her way to help many individuals in her large community throughout her life. She was a strong and adventurous athlete who ran marathons, participated in triathlons,skied and surfed, and enjoyed many outdoor explorations. Bee Jai was well known for her exuberant laugh and unyielding zest for life. Bee Jai cherished her spouse of 19 years, John Spence, her daughter Joy Lincke Hins, Son in law David Hins, Grandchildren; Skylar Joy Hins 6, Taylor Joy Hins 4, Theodore Hins 1 (born on Bee Jai’s birthday) Carly Hins, Erik Spence, Henry Spence 2; her sisters and brothers, Karolin Lennon, Jaki Oswald, David Repp, Jon Repp, and her many cousins, nephews, nieces and of course her many dear friends and colleagues. A viewing will be held in Bee Jai’s home at 15790 SW Queen Victoria Place, King City, OR 97224 on Friday from 11am to 2pm with a celebration of life on Sunday at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Lake Oswego, OR from 11am to 2pm, 14811 Kruse Oaks Blvd, Lake Oswego, OR 97035. Mom loved to include everyone, so please feel welcomed to join us in celebrating the life of my beloved mom, Bee Jai Repp. Instead of flowers, please send your donation to World Wildlife Fund, The Sierra Club, Greenpeace, ASPCA or the Humane Society.
