Beware of Onboard Cruise Bookings. Onboard booking programs on cruise ships can be beneficial, but not always be what they seem. Be discerning about what is actually being offered. Read the fine print! Onboard future cruise bookings are not for everyone, especially if you do not plan on sailing with that particular cruise line again. Onboard bookings do require some amount of advanced payment. The incentives that go along with the deal will be of no value if you cannot meet the terms and conditions. Avoid an onboard offer or promotion that must be pre-paid in full, and is non-refundable. Any promotion that advertises free air may not be what it seems, and you are subject to the airlines and routing offered by the cruise line. If you cannot commit to a future cruise far in advance, putting money down on an onboard future cruise booking may not be for you. Each cruise line may have different restrictions.
