Beware of mis-leadings! No deception is worse than self-deception! Misleadings occur when people of God are led to contradict Scripture in word or deed. Put on your thinking cap and lets reason together! Remember, Gd does not drawn a square-circle! We serve God with our conscious mind( intelligently) and with our spirit (supernaturally). The two modes of worship must not be divorced or caused to contradict. When your mind and spirit agree with God, that is true maturity! First, both the Word and the Holy Spirit are a gift of God Himself. The two agree in all things pertaining to the will of God. The Word is a commentary on the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit is the Author of the Word. Second. When God gave us the Holy Spirit, He was not replacing the mind and the brain. The Holy Spirit assists the mind to understand the deep things of God: things beyond the reach of the mind. Third, the Bible is the book for the mind or soul. It is food, but not necessarily spiritual food. Your spirit feeds on the person of God. Your mind feeds on the word of God. The Word alone converts the soul! Wordless souls are unconverted souls! Unconverted souls are rebellious. They can rebel against the one they claim to follow! Fourth, leadings are therefore determined by the state of the soul in relation to God. Any knowledge that does not lead to God, the Person, is a misleading. Most theological teachings are misleadings. Most theologians has issues with God Himself, hence they have little respect for the Word or the Holy Spirit. Conversely, any spiritual leading that undermines Scripture is a misleading. Many false prophets start off by discarding the Word before they introduce their own things. This is another misleading. Anyone who condones what Scripture condemns is being misled, no matter how many spirits they possess. There is only one God, one Saviour, one Holy Spirit and one Word of God. Fifth, any spiritist can copy Biblical methods of doing miracles, while the spirit in them is demonic. You shall know them by their fruits, not by their demonstration. The fruit and the gift agree, always! Sixth, immaturity in God is reason to all extremities in worship and service. It is immature to make the Spirit to appear to conflict with the Word. It is immature to make Scripture to appear to contradict the Spirit. The mature are never quick to judge! The immature go all out to prove their rightness and superiority. Finally, a lot of deception is corrected by time and experience plus mentors. When I was a child I thought like a child, and spoke like a child. Nothing is as frightening as power in the hands of immaturity! Every imaginable danger and destruction is possible! Spiritual gift does not place you above Scripture. Intellectual prowess does not place you above the Holy Spirit! Beware of mis-leadings! Shalom!
