Beware of outstripping God by your very longing to do His will. We run ahead of Him in a thousand and one activities, consequently we get so burdened with persons and with difficulties that we do not worship God . . . If once the burden and the pressure come upon us and we are not in the worshipping attitude, it will produce not only hardness toward God but despair in our own souls. - Chambers A great reminder to me this morning of the danger of being busy. We often say there is not enough time in the day. That is not true. There is plenty of time to do what God calls us to do. Our problem is that we too often stretch ourselves thin with good things that are not the best things. We allow urgency to determine priority. We schedule work without thought of the fact that work is to be worship. We plan hobbies without thought of our time being set apart as holy. We minister not seeking the will of the Master. In short, we make out our schedules without consulting the Savior. As has been said, the time we are given now is called the present. May we treat it as a gift and use it in a way brings glory to God.
