Beyond devastated to hear of Joan Rivers. Last year I was chosen by Joan herself in a talent search. The title came with 3 days with Joan and cash but the highlight was my personal mentoring session with Joan. (PRICELESS) She was so kind and generous and encouraged me to drop her name all over Hollywood. I remember her saying Do what ever you have to do Cindy, you are talented and deserve it When I met Joan I was able to bring a guest. My mom was Joans biggest fan but she had severe dementia and so I brought my sister Jackie Lurie (the closest thing to mom) Two weeks later my mom passed. For those of you that new my mom she was a Joan Rivers look alike. My sister and I inherited many Joan Rivers jacket and jewelry from my mom. My mom and my sister was and will always be the loves of my life. Joan was my adopted comedy mom. It is now time to tuck Joan next to mom safely in my heart. I will never forget these two great women. One gave me life and taught me to love, the other paved the way for women in comedy. Two warriors who will continue to inspire me.
