Beyond heartbreak - the two juvenile pilot whales who were stolen from their families 2 weeks ago and then their pod was brutally massacred - first were in shock and had to be held up by killer trainers and forced to breathe. Then they have been force-fed daily with tubes down their throats as they have not cared to eat. Now for several days, they float listlessly slathered with sun block lotion - this floating is associated with extreme depression in captive dolphins. Not enough cruelty Taiji? Now, they have been left in this sea pen to suffer in the approaching typhoon - the sea pens in storms are described as becoming like massive washing machines. One of the whales doesnt even have the strength to float upright - and the terror of the storm is just hours away. My deep hope for these two is that they transition before the storm, or quickly during it, to end the grief, misery, and torture of being captives for the rest of their lives. And they can reunite with their pod in spirit. Congrats Taiji, you get the psychopath killers atrocity award for cruelty and torture. May our love wrap endlessly around these two and every suffering, grieving animal on the planet, and may their fear and pain be lessened. Please dont buy tickets to captive dolphin shows and educate everyone you know.
