I will bring a great flood of water on the earth. - Genesis 6:17 (ERV) Meditation Effective use of language is important, as evidenced by these actual excerpts from the popular Dear Abby column: “Dear Abby: My mother is mean and short-tempered. I think she is going through her mental pause.” Or how about, “Dear Abby: I met this nice guy who is in the service. He’s the chief petting officer.” Then consider the plight of this questioner: “Dear Abby: A couple of women moved in across the hall from me…I’ve never seen a man go into their apartment or come out. Do you think they could be Lebanese?” The Lord, of course, knew the value of clear communication when he asked Noah to “understand” what He was saying about the catastrophic coming flood. It’s vital that we “get the message” when we read His Word. Yet there are scores of people groups worldwide who do not have a Bible available in their native tongue. They’ll never understand God and His Word without it. Pray today for these groups—that they will soon have Bibles where the message is crystal clear, and that they will fully understand and accept the salvation He offers them. What other book, indeed. Anticipate how God’s Word is going to be alive in you today! Prayer God, I ask You to use organizations like Bible League International in a mighty way to give every tribe in every language access to the Word so they may know and love You! Amen.
