Bible Study 11/1/13 JUDGES 14:19-20 /15:18-20. The motive of angry revenge dominated Sampsons personality & actions more & more. Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbor for we are members one of another. Be ye angry,and sin not:let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil. Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth...Ephesians 4:25-28. Because of what the Philistines had done to him, Sampson destroyed much of their wheat and other crops. Then he turned his rage on the Philistines themselves, killing many of them. There are many RAGE-AHOLICS who, like Sampson, desperately need help. Otherwise, they will destroy themselves, as Sampson later did, and hurt the people they love. God calls us to take our hurts and give them to him while forgiving those who hurt us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness...1st John 1:9. REVENGE NEVER ADEQUATELY REPAYS THE VICTIMIZER. IN FACT, IT ONLY CAUSES THE ONE WHO HAS HURT TO BE VICTIMIZED AGAIN. Sampson was left emotionally & physically drained after his victory over the Philistines. He now complained to God, perhaps exaggerating his situation MUST I DIE OF THRIST?. After a major victory in our life,we may feel emotionally or physically spent. But we must not stop and become discouraged. This will only lead to failure. We should rely on Gods power to strengthen us and meet our needs. Then we can be ready to face the next battle. To know the love of Christ,which passeth knowledge,that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think,according to the power that worketh in us,Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen...Ephesians 3:19-21.
