Big John WEATHER Summary & Discussion (Issued 3:00 pm Friday April 10th, 2014) The weekend will be delightful, nice and comfortable, a little breezy by Sunday, but NO weather worries for your weekend plans. And man, there’s a lot going on this Palm Sunday Weekend! Our dome of high pressure continues sliding eastward into the Atlantic putting us on the “return” flow for the weekend. Expect highs working around 80 and overnight lows in the upper 50s. And while we enjoy the weekend, watch what’s happening “upstream”. That’s how we start the new week. Pacific storm is crossing the Inter-Mountain west generating gusty winds, locally heavy rainfall and snow above 3800’. Canadian cold air and warm moist Gulf air plug into this circulation later tonight, deepening the storm over the Southern Plains. Polar jet turns the storm NE toward Chicago on Saturday. By Saturday night, the storm is developing severe weather from Texas to Michigan and snow will be dropping across the Lakes through Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota. This baby’s got everything. Again, we repeat the same storm track from last week. The core and strongest storms will line up Sunday from the Mid-Mississippi Valley to the Southern Lakes. Additional storms could pop along the Gulf Coast. What’s the timing for us? Our chance of showers and some embedded thunderstorms arrive Monday night into Tuesday, our best chance for pollen relief. Some showers may linger into early Wednesday before we dry out for the Heritage! And it will be a little cooler next week. It’s my pleasure to join 98.7 The River’s MARK ROBERTSON and a ton of local officials as you friendly and cordial MC at the SAVANNAH KOMAN RACE FOR THE CURE tomorrow morning. I’ll be in pink. Hope you will join us!
