Big bad corporations rigging the system for economic advantage is a byproduct of deregulation. Regulation of corporate power for public benefit was originally in place to prevent their pervasive predatory presence from growing to overwhelm our land and people with economic dominance and control. The many faceted tentacle like reach of great wealth and power of corporate empire building we are now plagued with in society was made possible with excess profits from purchased tax leniency used to further minimize their responsibility to the public, society and civilization. These tentacles of great power and ability to infiltrate, grasp and draw in sustaining resources to the great disadvantage of us who by relative economic strength are currently their prey and servants rather than one of our tools for public benefit our fore fathers fought for and once won in the war for independence from the then overwhelming force of British corporate dominance.
