Bill Burrows was a member at our club for over forty years and very passionate about junior golf. Although he is no longer a member he still comes out to work on his putting and is always willing to give advice and will be at our inaugural event. I have changed the nature of this tournament by having an elite member with a 0-3 handicap leading each group which takes the pressure off your tee game and makes it fun for players with excellent to limited playing ability or experience. Only the juniors will compete for any prizes and so far Bryan Toth, Grant Maskiewich, Qingwen Bao, and Chris Michaud are committed to playing in this event. This is a fun tournament and uses a Shamble format. All players in their group tee off the white tees, go to the best drive, then play their own ball in from there and post their own score for each hole. If you haven’t established a handicap I will assign you one and don’t let this prevent you from entering. Any golfers with a handicap of 20 or higher are permitted to tee off the forward tee. There will be a modest prize table and remember that a sandwich and a drink are included so please let me know ASAP by phone 250-380-7602 or email andy.tubaboy@gmail if you are interested in playing. Registration will be closed by 8 pm Friday 26 July. I will make up the teams and draw on Saturday and the first group will tee off at 1:28 pm on Monday 29 July.
