Bill Maher is coming a bit unglued on the issue of Islam v. other faiths. There are WORSE admonitions and stories in the Bible than in the Koran - Ive read both. Furthermore, both Judaism and Christianity are based on the same Abrahamic tradition and all have their origins in the traditions and beliefs of the ancient Israelites. There is a difference in practice among more extreme modern Muslims vis-a-vis modern Christians; but at root - no significant theological differences. The practical difference is both Judaism and Christianity evolved, matured, and was tempered by those changes in history, philosophy, science and technology; whereas Islam has isolated itself because Islamic and Arab culture was isolated LARGELY by a vicious adversarial relationship with Catholic and Orthodox Christians.
