Bill Maher just said millions of Muslims support the French attack which to me is dumb, you cant simplify things as he has done without dividing the people.. what he has said is no different than saying radical Christianity (or Judaism) must be stopped, extremists kill which I at least will credit bill Maher for criticizing religions all across the board, but he is still narrow viewed in his way of presenting it. I understand he is an atheist and thinks religion is what drives people to all this shit, but with the same perspective applied, you can say that atheists have no god to base a moral backing on and therefore can kill without conscious, but bill probably has morals and would understand why that is a bad generalization. The same way I can present you with many awesome people of each faith, who have taken good things out of their faith. I do agree that any of the abrahamic religious text, if taken completely literal, will lead to things like this, because they were ALL written in war torn lands in a time long ago, where customs were brutal. but evil, hatred and things of the like are PRE EXISTING in humans, and will be enabled and manifested one way or another in humans throughout there life, varying on circumstances. The more brutal your environment, the more brutal you may be, some turn out malintentioned, others empaths who want good In the world. The issue is dividing the people and putting them up as enemies, this just leads to more conflict. So stop being lazy and generalizing people instead of dealing with it on a case to case basis.
