Bill and I had such a wonderful surprise tonight. Well…. the surprise began on June 7th when John Marelli and Joe Apice showed up at the 5K Race with their professional cameras telling us that they were taking photos of the race. Liesl Marelli wanted these photos and wished she could have attended but is living now in Florida. Liesl ran the 5K in honor of Billy and Ashley the day of the race in Fort Hood, Texas when she was getting ready to ship out for her assignment serving our country a number of years ago (wearing Billy’s and Ashley’s shirt). Her father also surprised us that morning when we were told that Liesl was writing a blog In Honor of Billy and Ashley under Exploring the World with a Smile which is up now and absolutely amazing. Tonight John brought to us a book designed and assembled by Liesl with wonderful quotes and phrases and so many brilliant photos from the 5K race on June 7th . The day is captured by many expressions on the faces of the participants that attended in an array of ages. I am sure there is no doubt in anyone’s mind why we continue to live in the same house and the same town that Billy and Ashley grew up in and loved very much. The outpouring of love and support is never ending after all these years and we cannot begin to express the gratitude that we feel for the love that is continued to be shown to our children.
