Biography Since the beginning, Guerrilla Takeover (which is based out of Mendocino County, Nor-Cal) has always been focused on bringing the best of current and past Reggae/Dancehall hits from the charts and the deep vaults to the Massive. Our focus has always been collecting Custom Dubplates, making Remixes and bringing Carribean Music to Northern California in an Original Fashion with a large, quality Soundsystem. Guerrilla Takeover was first established around 2004 when Dj Octagon purchased his first set of Turntables along with a small sound system and started getting hired around Mendocino County. Later that year the sound saw the addition of C-Money (Octagons cousin by Blood) and they started off with a bang cutting Dubplates from artists like Richie Spice, Johhny Osbourne, Vybz Kartel, Wayne Smith, and Bounty Killer. Among others they still wanted to spread the local Northern California Vibe and represent their sound with Dubplates by artists like Moese Angel-(RIP), Ishi Due and The High-Grade All-Stars. They have continually put out mix tapes that never faulted for over a decade, always gaining love and respect from Reggae and Dancehall fans from around the globe. They have played Reggae Festivals all along the West Coast like The Northwest Reggae Fest, Earthdance, The Gaia Festival, Unity Festival, Beneficial Reggae, The famed Reggae on The River Festival and have played 6 years at the Annual Emerald Cup Festival. They enjoyed a residency in Humboldt County @ The Pearl in Eureka for nearly 3 years bringing guests like Bobby Hustle, Jah Warrior Shelter, One Blood Sound, Ishi Dube, Highgrade Sound, Mountain Lion Hi-Fi, OneWise Sound, Rudelion, INI Vibration and many more. In 2014 they re-start their Original First Fridays Monthly Party @ Tophs Place In Benbow, Humboldt County. Dj Octagon even touched Radio with his Sunday nite Soundclash Radio show which aired every Sunday for a few years out of San Louis Obispo. They have smashed most Reggae/Dancehall clubs or nights in the West for years Including Club 6 in San Francisco, Waids in Seattle, The Downlow in Berkeley, The Mateel Community Center in Redway, The Baltic Room in Seattle, Hopmonk in Sebastopol, Christys in Santa Rosa, Tophs in Benbow, Caspar Inn in Fort Bragg, Rockit Room in San Francisco, Boomers in Laytonville, Jumbalaya in Arcata, The Pearl in Eureka, Brooktrails Lodge in Willits, Ocean Grove in Trinidad and many more. They have Juggled alongside the some of the best sounds in the world like Stonelove and Bass Odyssey, most recently in St. Anns Jamaica. Winning more Soundclash trophies to hang on the shelf is always a priority for Guerrilla Takeover, the Former winners of The Annual Clubdread Soundclash. In 2014 they hold their first Country Cup Soundclash providing a platform for other sounds to better themselves and gain a larger fan-base. They have focused in recent years in providing big name Reggae Artists for their small rural community in Mendocino County such as Konshens, Bounty Killer, Israel Vibrations, Demarco, Cutty Ranks, Perfect, Marlon Asher, Louie Culture, Capleton, Chuck Fenda, Anthony B, Addis Pablo, Gappy Ranks, Chukki Starr, Richie Spice, Michael Rose, Tony Rebel, Sister Carol, Queen Ifrica and many more.
