Birdman Movie A washed-up actor who once played an iconic superhero must overcome his ego and family trouble as he mounts a Broadway play in a bid to reclaim his past glory. Review: So… If you watched the trailer you are probably a bit confused on why this movie is getting such good reviews. The trailer makes “Birdman” look like last year lackluster “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” that got nominations. Well, I can tell you that “Birdman” does not fall into that category. Yes, the movie is a bit strange but the strange makes sense once you actually watch the movie. Michael Keaton, knocks it out the park with this amazing performance as a washed up actor who is desperately trying to have a comeback by staging a Broadway play that is completely taking a turn into disaster as he starts losing control. The movie is shot beautifully as it actually seems like its one long shot without any breaks or transitions, and a subtle jazz soundtrack playing nearly through the entire movie. “Birdman” is definitely an adventure for the different. If you want a comparison, it’s difficult to make, but if I had to choose I would say its similar to the “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”. Also stars Edward Norton, Emma Stone and Zach Galifianakis. “Birdman” is unique, interesting, twisted and superb! A Rated R Runtime 2hrs
