Birra Etrusca: an Ancient Ale - this is a collaboration between Birra del Borgo, Baladin and Dogfish Head. Its an ancient ale. They all made the same brew but each fermented it in different vessels. Birra del Borgo in terracotta (this beer), Baladin in wood and Dogfish Head in bronze. Pours a hazy golden colour, head dissipates in a matter of seconds and theres not a lot to the nose, it does have a slightly sour smell though. And Jumping Jehoshaphat is it that! I thought the Mountain Goat Yuzu was tart, this certainly gives it a run for their money and beats it to the post by at least a length! Its almost eyewateringly sour. Im finding it exceptionally hard to decipher anything under the sour, but there is a tiny hint of almost honey sweetness after the taste buds have unretracted.
