Birthday Posh Spa update: Arrived last night, and a nice young man named Joe carried our bags and showed us to our room in the Stable Block, and did a not-very-competent job building up the fire (I guess Joe was not a Scout). Settled in and explored room, which has a giant, fluffy bed, an almost equally fluffy cot (Mom couldt get a 2-bed room, so we have a cot in the sitting room), a sitting room with two arm chairs, a tea-making area, a full bath with the deepest, self-heating jaccuzzi I have ever seen plus shower etc. It also has a decorating theme that I would call Rustic Bovine. (we cant figure out how to work the self-heating towel rack, and are sad), dressing area. Basically I have had apartments smaller than this hotel room. Had dinner in the bar, where they made me a delicious ginger-beer raspberry lemon mocktail and served the best onion-beer soup I have ever had. Watched Sunshine Cleaning under the watchful gaze of the cows. Today involved a delicious breakfast, a manicure at the posh spa, wandering into town for lunch and a pedicure (the posh spa was booked solid, so we went offsite for the other sets of nails). Now we are relaxing by the fireplace under the cows placid gazes.
