Blayney Golf News On Saturday members played an 18 hole stableford event for the Bob Costello trophy and 1st round Banks trophy matches. The hot winter scoring continued with Sid Chidiac winning the day with a very impressive 42 stableford points. The A grade runner up was Peter Neal with 38 points and the B grade runner up was Keiran Patrick with 39 points. The ball competition winners were Tony Smith 36 points, Mark Petersen 36 points and Tony Gannon 35 points. The nearest the pin winners with their laser like tee shots to the par 3 6th and 15th holes were A grade Mick Tyrrell 213cms and Tony Smith 384cms and B grade John Davis 1200cms. The results from the remaining Banks trophy matches saw TJ Smith and Tony Gannon defeat Fred Rowland and Bill Davis 3 & 2, Sid Chidiac and Mick Simmons defeated Mick Miskell 7 & 6. The semi final matches of the Banks trophy will be Gerry Davis and Don Eves v TJ Smith and Tony Gannon, Peter Neal and Chris Hotham v Sid Chidiac and Mick Simmons. This Saturday members will play an 18 hole stroke event for the July monthly medal and the Mick Tyrrell trophy. On Monday the veterans played an 18 hole stableford event for a club trophy, the winner was Bob Costello with 42 stableford points, the runner up was Darren Cole with 37 points and the nearest the pin was Bob Costello on the 2nd hole.
