Blessed Friday from St. Thomas, V.I. Our Meditation from the Gospel of John, chapter 4. 46 Then he came again to Cana in Galilee where he had changed the water into wine. Now there was a royal official whose son lay ill in Capernaum. 47 When he heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went and begged him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death. 48 Then Jesus said to him, “Unless you[a] see signs and wonders you will not believe.” 49 The official said to him, “Sir, come down before my little boy dies.” 50 Jesus said to him, “Go; your son will live.” The man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him and started on his way. It is amazing how you and I can believe what other people tell us but we are not as quick to believe the Word of God. We go to the doctor and he writes a prescription that we dont understand; it is filled by the pharmacist with pills; we take the pills and put our faith that they will work to heal our bodies. I take my share of pills so I am not knocking the medical profession. But how often we hear or read Gods Word but have our doubts that what the Word says God will perform it when it applies to us. We often want to see proof before we will accept the promises of God. The man in the account above did not initially believe Jesus, but eventually believed and left the scene. We all have our doubts, but one thing I know, you can depend on God and His Word. He has exalted His Word even above His Name. PRAYER: Father, I acknowledge that at times I doubt your Word, but help my un- belief. By faith I believe your Word because You are the only One whom I can totally depend one. I believe in Jesus Name!
