You know what they say about people with big feet?! that’s right, big shoes – ideal for foot steering tiny dancer. the fellow crew have taken to wearing my second pair of nikes in order to aid in the foot steering... i knew i would have some use on board. we have made good progress in the past few days and have now slowed down with little wind and low speeds... although the sun is out, i really do not like this rowing, it is heavy and causes the muscles on my back to scream at me... i just had to plug in and grin and bear it for a good 2 hours and same again in an hour... all for 1 knt of boat speed. awesome. we are expecting the ‘strongest winds of our trip’ yet coming in in 8 hours or so and coming from the south east, so lets hope we can maintain a good course and be productive of it... a para anchor session does not sound like fun to me – id rather get it all done with... 1000 miles soon... nothing!!! since the real lows of the trip, it has been pretty pleasant as ocean rowing goes. i have even found some of the night shifts less painless than some of the day ones. jim and i had an epic night shift where the entire sky was lit up by a shooting star, bright green and long... we were left in awe and rowing was forgotten about for a few minutes... we wondered if we were the only 2 to have seen this amazing sight – being on the ocean can be a beautiful thing... but this is the calm before the storm! we are also in a shipping lane we think but i see jamie has already filled you all in... but it is very exciting when we get responses on the radio... glad you liked the photo everyone – keep the abuse coming about the beard! and if you miss me that much send some messages over – im gonna be home soon... cannot wait for a new chapter in my life – who knows what the future might hold for me... i have some ideas though... thanks for all the support, it is great to get messages from you guys and know how many of you are behind us... xxxx
