The sheer weight of the words, the massive amount of overblown hyperbole assaulting me on a daily, hourly and even minute by minute basis is simply driving me mad. It seems that the sheer ubiquitous nature of the internet is forcing dimwits and other talentless copywriter wannabes to call every and anything on the web the best, the brightest, the most incredible, SIMPLY AMAZING!!!...but it’s all dross, rubbish and garbage. Just absolute bullshit. How can something be the best thing I’ve ever seen if I just saw the best thing I’ve ever seen 5 minutes before? Now I do understand that people are competing for the consideration of the severely attention span challenged…individuals who are to ADHD what hummingbirds are to vultures (literally unable to concentrate longer than the time it takes for an eye flick to the next video/cat photo/humanity restoring vignette) but these amazing/incredible/fantastic/etc. things are useless pieces of crap only meant to numb and tranquilize the brain…to make the already dumb that much dumber. But there is a reason… …we are constantly being deluged with such insipid, uninspired crap with over-inflated, grandiose titles—that have absolutely no connection to the actual content—and that it is so we vote for inane, totally unqualified politicians like the current crop in the Whitehouse and both legislatures. Why else are we assaulted nonstop, 24/7/365 with so much sub-40 IQ crap if not to make us see our elected officials as somehow qualified and competent? To make us see how amazing our president is? #justsayin
