Blues harmonica player Little Sonny was born Aaron Willis on this day in 1932 in Greensboro, AL. Little Sonny was a Detroit area harp player who worked with John Lee Hooker, Eddie Burns, Eddie Kirkland, Baby Boy Warren and Washboard Willie. He had been tutored by Sonny Boy Williamson 2 and his style mirrored that of Sonny Boy`s, hence his nickname. Little Sonny. He recorded his first solo records in 1958. I Gotta Find My Baby was released by Duke and Love Shock was released by Excello. In the 60s. Little Sonny recorded himself on a 2 track machine and leased the recordings out to various labels. He signed with Stax Records in 1970 and released the excellent New King of The Blues Harmonica, which is combined with another album, Hard Going Up and on the Ace label. youtu.be/GZwGGB2x_qM
