Board Game Review: Build-A-Village Available at Hastings Toy - TopicsExpress

Board Game Review: Build-A-Village Available at Hastings Toy Library Recommended Ages: 36months+ Players: 4 Object: Fill your village with buildings, trees and transport. To Play: Each player chooses a board and all the pieces go in the middle. Take turns rolling the dice, choose an item the same colour as the dot on the dice to place on your board. If you roll a colour that you already have, choose a player to give that piece to. The winner is the first person to fill up their board. Review: Its not often that you see a board game where the recommended age is in months not years and I wasnt sure if this would really be simple enough for under 2s, but it really is! It is the perfect first board game to teach the idea of rolling dice and taking turns and is also perfect for learning colour recognition. I played this with my 3 year old and it was pretty simple for her but she still enjoyed it and I did too. Its a sweet game with lovely wooden pieces and cute illustration. I have never seen this board game before and thats one of the many great things about toy librarys, so many toys that we may not grab our attention in a shop or may not even be for sale anymore but they are still available to us. If you have younger children that you would like to introduce to board games I highly recommend this one. Look out for it next time you pop into the toy library.
