Board of Directors, The Black Forest Fire Faire….Bringing Magic Back to the Forest The event I am organizing is a smaller version of the Renaissance Festival though not affiliated with the Colorado Renaissance Festival directly. This is a collection of volunteers who are performers, members of reenactment groups and regular paying patrons. I have various Renaissance Festival actors and Denver Metro area groups showing interest in coming to perform on a 100% volunteer basis once an event location can be secured. The Renaissance Festival is a popular event which closes this coming weekend. Many are saddened by the end of the season and if an additional Renaissance style event were to be advertised, attendance would be solid and add variety to your event. These groups are wide reaching and I have begun to receive support from reenactment groups in other states even. I have never organized an event of the magnitude. I have never written a synapsis for a business proposal for charity. I am a father trying to set a good example for my children. Aug 24th is my oldest daughter Tara’s birthday and I thought what better gift could be given to my daughter than a lesson in charity and benevolence for the community. I wish to show her even just one voice can make a difference. I began posting this on Facebook via my cell phone four days ago and the support and interest has been overwhelming. I don’t even own a PC. I have done this all through networks of good people who like to take part in Renaissance fantasy themed events and help people. Now I need help. Imagine what could be done with this idea with your organizers and connections. I am but one man, be it a loud and persistent one. Wonderland is set up to provide the space needed, the direction as far as a charity organization being in place, and experience with these events far beyond my skill set. I have man power, I have good people willing to help make this happen at no cost, and I have an idea that WILL work. I need to lock in an event location site to solidify the commitment with the groups who are willing to participate. I need help from people who have done this before. If you give us a place to hold this event we WILL bring the magic! It will increase the charity revenue for you event that is already in place drastically. If my proposal to merge these events is rejected by your board I will push forward on my own. The victims of this fire deserve every effort possible to make this happen. This Black Forest Fire did not receive the kind of national press that the Waldo Canyon fire did. With the Waldo Canyon fire, it was an election year and President Obama came and smiled for the cameras. Black Forest families have us. They have the love and support of fellow Coloradans.
